Al-Shreif Mountain trail starts from Umm Qais, all the way to the village of Al Mukhaiba Al Tahta.
The path begins at an easy semi-level mountain range with simple ramps and slopes, passing through over 50% of the superficies of the Yarmouk Forest Reserve. As you walk, you will come across an interesting variety of plants such as the iris; and trees such as the Hawthorn, the Rhamnus and the Deciduous Oak; in addition to animals like geckos, the Greek tortoise and the stone marten, which lives in Deciduous Oak tree forests.
The track will then take you to a panoramic site located 352 meters above sea level, where you can enjoy a well-deserved rest while admiring some old caves and rock formations, in addition to wells.
You can also appreciate a scenic view of the Lake of Tiberias, At-Tur Mount, the Golan Heights, Safed, the West Bank and Jabal Al Sheikh in Lebanon and Syria.
Finally, follow the path downwards towards the Muntumra Valley -85 meters of altitude – to sip a delicious tea on the firewood, before walking an additional kilometer towards your final destination, the
village of Al Mukhaiba Al Tahta, which is located at 18 meters above sea level.
