How is Jordan ?
The first thing you will notice when you arrive to Jordan that the people are very warm and welcoming to tourists. You will be pleasantly surprised by the sense of security you will find in Jordan- it is one of the safest places to travel in the world. Jordan maintains good relations with all of its neighbours and is truly an oasis of peace in this region. The country is fairly liberal, westernised.
Are flights included?
No. tours are only sold as ‘land-only’ arrangements, Your international travel to and from the tour are not included in the trip price. However, Flights link can assist you with booking your flights, or via your local agent.
Amman Airport !

How is weather in Jordan?
Jordan’s weather is as diverse as its history! Categorized as Mediterranean, the country enjoys all four seasons with little to no humidity. Winter can see snow in the forests especially in northern areas of the country, while spring heralds wild flowers in the desert to the east and south.
What is Jordan currency?
The local currency is the Jordanian Dinar, symbol JD, There are 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 JD notes. The dinar is divided into 100 piasters (pronounced “pee-asters”) of 1000 fils (“fills”). The fils is the unit most commonly used and you will usually see prices written as 4,750 (which is 4 JD and 750 fils).Currency can be exchanged at major banks, exchange booths and at most hotels. Street money-changers are best avoided. Exchange rates are set daily by the Jordanian Central Bank.
Will I be able to exchange dollars, Euros, or other currencies in Jordan?
There are a large number of banks and money exchanger offices "Dollars-Dinar" that can change cash currencies in Jordan. Moreover, all touristic shops, restaurants, and bars will actually accept dollars or Euros at rates that are relatively close to the official ones. Make sure you know the current exchange rate of your currency to Jordanian dinar. It is also good to know that credit cards are widely used and accepted in Jordan.
Can i use credit card in Jordan?
Credit cards are widely accepted in Jordan at hotels, restaurants and shops, including American Express, Visa, Diners Club, and MasterCard. Please note that many smaller shops still prefer cash payment in the Jordanian currency, and it’s essential for shopping in the local souks.

What is the best time to visit Jordan?
In the first half of the year, the peak season usually starts in mid-February and continues till the end of May. It starts again in September and continues till the end of November. These are the times when the weather is at its best, but it is worth noting that weather patterns are inconsistent, so it is possible to have perfect weather throughout the year, as most regions record less than 30 days of rain per year. The summer is hot but nowhere as hot as the Gulf countries, and is perfectly bearable.
How much shall I tip?
Although Tipping "gratuities" is not obligatory, but the people who are working in the tourism sector depend on tips as a major part of their income. Therefore, tipping is considered customary and widely expected in Jordan, while The amount depends on the situation. For example, In the restaurants, it is good to give 10% tip directly to the waiter even when there is service charge added to the bill as the service tax does not go to the waiters.
Is there any special advice for women travelers while visiting Jordan?
Jordan requires a certain level of modesty in terms of clothing, although on the beach the usual swimwear is acceptable.
What sort of transport do you use in Jordan?
Depending on the group size, you'll be travelling in an air-conditioned vehicle such as a tourist car or mini van (depending on group size). At the entrance to the Wadi Rum protected area you'll board well-used 4x4 vehicles to navigate the rolling orange sands. Six passengers get in each vehicle plus a local driver. It's the quickest and easiest way to get to our desert camp.
Can I visit the beach in Jordan?
Jordan has a tiny sliver of Red Sea coastline - 27 kilometres to be precise. The resort city of Aqaba is the best place to enjoy some R&R; at the Red Sea coast, though of course, the Dead Sea is also a great option. We visit the Dead Sea on some of our Jordan packages and can incorporate a visit to Aqaba on a Tailor-made Jordan holiday for you.
Is Wi-Fi readily available in Jordan?
Wi-Fi service is available in all hotels, cafes and restaurants, but do not expect it in Wadi Rum. In order to be able to stay online, we recommend that you purchase a local sim card upon your arrival.
How can I travel to Israel by land from Jordan or vice versa?
Jordan & Israel share three border-crossing points; Allenby Bridge, Sheikh Hussein Bridge, or Arava border crossing. There are also regular flights between Amman and Tel Aviv airports, which are a very short flight from each other.
What are the opening and closing hours for tourist sites?

The electricity is 220 volts, so bring along a transformer if you need one.
Where should report lost property ?
Look after your belongings and keep valuables in the hotel safe. Lost property should be reported to the police. If you lose your passport, you should contact your embassy. The country is fairly liberal.

Will I see Petra and how much time will I spend at the site?
The incredible ancient city of Petra is the country's top attraction and so it's included on some of our Jordan trips. A full day is spent exploring the temples, theatres and colonnaded streets of the ancient city, with entry via the Siq to arrive at the extraordinary Treasury (of Indiana Jones fame). Many tour operators only spend one night in Petra on their Jordan holidays. But we want our travellers to have plenty of time to take in this unique world wonder, including the main sights and some hidden gems too!
Is Petra by Night Included in the Jordan Pass?
Unfortunately, Petra by Night is not part of the Jordan Pass. the Jordan Pass is for regular hours Petra visits only (between 6am and 6pm). As mentioned above, you need to purchase an additional ticket to attend Petra by Night as it is put on by a private company not the Ministry of Tourism.
Does the Entry fee to Petra include a Horse-back ride?
The entry ticket to Petra includes a horse-ride at the entrance to the site, however, (Please note that, you must pay the tip for the horse handler if you do take the horse ride).
When is Petra by Night?
Petra by Night occurs three times a week. It takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Petra by Night experience goes from 8:30pm until 10:30pm. Arrive at the visitors center for 8pm if you want to be one of the first to arrive at the Treasury. (Do not worry if you are not first, many will leave after the show giving you a few minutes to capture the candles and the Treasury backdrop).
How to get to Petra by Night?
Petra by Night is accessed through the Petra Visitor’s center! Once you have your tickets, you can go through the main trail towards the Siq. There are no horses or cars available during the evening Petra performance and guests will need to be able to walk the 1.2km Siq to the Treasury and back.
What does it cost for Children at Petra by Night?
If you have children, they are welcome at Petra by Night. Children under 10 are admitted free of charge. Children 10 and over pay the same rate as adults 17JD (about USD$25).
Will I be able to Take good Pictures during Petra by Night?
I will warn you that those out-of-this-world images of Petra by Night with the Treasury and the Stars above are not taken by ordinary travellers with a camera. They are taken by professional photographers who not only know a great angle when they see one, but also are well versed in exposure, depth of field and have lots of practice exposing for stars. They probably have those camera’s mounted on a tripod that costs more than your camera! With the limited lighting, your cell phone will probably get a shaky image of the candles and the Treasury. Do not expect much more. But still you can use your own camera or cellphone for taking your own pictures
How Wadi Rum Jeeps?
Wadi Rum Jeeps "Bedouin jeep” are old models vehicles without A/C and seat belt. They belong to the local Bedouin association.
What are your desert camps look like at Wadi Rum and do I need a sleeping bag?
Inside the tents are comfortable camp beds and warm bedding, so you don't need to bring a sleeping bag on your trip to Jordan. However, you may wish to bring your own liner. Showers and toilets are in an outhouse close by with hot running water. There's a communal area with rugs and cushions where a traditional Bedouin dinner is eaten in the evening. The camp's position at the foot of an easily-climbed rocky hill makes it the perfect spot to watch the sunset.
